Idea of structure of the Trailer.

After our main compulsory shots have been placed near the beginning of the trailer for the viewer to understand what the storyline, we could have a sequence of quick shots of the characters at different places at different stages of life with different people etc. This could be happening whilst a voice over is going on over it, maybe a line from the film that Ayla is saying how much it hurts, or India justifying her actions. Then whatever the voice over maybe, it will end with an impacting statement and the trailer will have an impacting image which will end the flickering images abruptly, this will then slow the trailer down to maybe the end of the trailer.

Influence - Project X

There are some aspects of the 'Project X' trailer which really drew our group in. For example the images turning into Polaroid like photos. 

Also the quick jump through of parts of the party but not really revealing any main storyline is something that we would like to incorporate. There is a huge difference between our genre and the one of Project X but we dont want to discard project X's trailer as it really caught our eye and if possible we would like to embody some elements of the trailer into ours.

A way we do feel we may be able to sprinkle that bit of Project X into our trailer is with the urban, young feel it gives of. This is something we are going to strongly try to use. We want our Romance to have an urban feel. 

Influence - Blue Valentine

The trailer 'Blue Valentine' has influenced us largely. We love the short trailer jumping through beautiful romantic scenes with the only piece of dialogue being right at the beginning. The whole feel of trailer has really inspired us as well, the hand held camera and it not being a hollywood feel kind of trailer, especially as we are going for an independent Romance. The whole structure of it is something we will frequently come back to and use it to assist us through out the making and editing of our trailer.

We have decided on a final title of 'Under The Same Sun'.
We think this title goes with the main genre of our film and works well with the storyline. 

Mood Board

The images I have chosen for this mood board represent the type of genre we would like to get across in our teaser trailer. It represents love, secrecy and powerful images such as the green forest which shows peace and beauty. The image with the graffiti on the wall helps to influence the rebellious aspect of the idea's we have come up with so far.

Inspiration - Tree of life

'Tree of Life' was a huge inspiration for our group! As we said with the teaser trailer 'Man of Steel' we were really attracted to the beautiful photography in it and wanted to replicate it in our own Trailer, we felt the trailer of 'Tree of Life' depicted what feel we wanted exactly! There was no Talking and the images spoke for them self, drawing the viewers in and only exceeding there curiosity to watch it. That is why we feel it is so important to post this to express the kind of feel we were going for with the beautiful images dominating the trailer.

All Good Things

We looked at the trailer for All good things because the beginning and the end of the trailer are what appealed to us the most.

The way the trailer begins is extremely effective as it catches the audience's eye. The image to image countdown catches attention and makes the trailer look more interesting by using images which perhaps describe the steps of the film showing happiness and sadness. As you can see from the 5 images shown, the countdown of them clearly shows the comparison of emotions. 

Synopsis

There  are two best friends since childhood, Ayla and India. Ayla gets her first serious boyfriend, Ben. India is nothing but happy for her friend Ayla and has no real problem about there relationship. Meanwhile India is getting her self into a bad crowd.
Ayla feels some importance that her boyfriend and best friend get along well so Ayla strategically gets Ben and India begin to get to know each other.
Ben and India start become very close due to Ayla, for example getting Ayla's birthday present etc. After India seeks help from Ben instead of Ayla due to her unhelpful friends, unintentionally India and Ben begin to start seeing each other.
Despite India and Bens hidden relationship tearing all relationships apart at the seams (India+Ayla. Ayla+Ben. Ben+India.), Ben and India cannot stop seeing each other. Ben is starting to become extremely distressed as he loves both girls. India is hating herself for betraying her childhood best friend. Ayla is oblivious.
Ayla begins to become suspicious at how close Ben and India appear, when she find out that India went  to Ben when she was in trouble Ayla is hurt and her suspicions are furthered.
Ayla decides she must be imagining it and when she goes to confront Ben and India and apologise for what she was imagining. They tell her the truth.
She is distraught and furious! Breaks contact with both India and Ben. Ben and India feel so incredibly bad and cant stand to be together and they break things off. Both Ben and India attempt to apologise separately to Ayla. But she wont have any of it. We see all three go there separate ways.
A few years later we see India and Ayla bump into each other at a family party. Ayla is with a guy and is extremely happy. It appears that Ayla forgives India and is willing to restore there friendship.
Then a while later (unaware if years, months etc) Ben and India bump into each other. Ben is not with anyone as is India (both unable to maintain a proper relationship with anyone since what happened with Ayla due to guilt, not trusting them self and not feeling they way they did for each other) It gives the impression that they will rekindle there love. And that there love was genuine.

Best friends from childhood,  Will India jeopardise what they had for the sake of love?  Everything changes due to the power of one person.

The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence)

Despite the fact we like subtle teaser trailers not giving anything really away, and leaving everything to the imagination of the audience, our group did not really like the idea of this teaser trailer. The Human Centipede 2 teaser trailer is a good in theory, however we just felt that it was too secretive and on the verge of disturbing without even showing one scene of the film. Although we are probably coming to this teaser trailer with a biased view, the fact we have no interest in a gory Horror and are more drawn to beautiful imagery. But the trailer just didn't entice us or excite us in anyway. And the idea the producers were probably going with was that people would go view the film out of curiosity from the reaction given in the teaser trailer, which is a smart idea, but extremely risky. It just didn't work for us, it felt more of a cop out from showing the best bits of a film.

MAN OF STEEL

The man of steel teaser trailer is a perfect example of the type of trailer we are aiming to produce. It has that subtle element to it which draws the character in, which we love. Not revealing anything to the audience but enough for the audience to want to know more. We also love the idea of very little narrative, maybe a quote or a line from the film to incite the audience but nothing more. So the images speak for them self and enabling the viewers thoughts to go wild. However for that to have right effect it is the result of the beautiful imagery displayed, which prompted the audiences's imagination. This is something we absolutely love! And we are very passionate to incorporate this into our Movie Teaser Trailer, such beautiful imagery and photography. For the images to speak for it self. So this is why the Teaser trailer "Man of Steel" had such an impact on our group.  

What Is A Teaser Trailer?

A teaser trailer is a small snippet of the best bits of a film, which aims to tease the audience.

It is shorter than a feature trailer,  often in a teaser trailer there is generally less information given away. It is released way in advance of the feature trailer and the film, this is to create a buzz about the release of the film and get people eager to watch it.
